The 10-gauge 'CG' Cannon was developed and built by RBG Cannons for the US Navy, as a replication of the 'Captain Skeeter Gun,' used on Coast Guard cutters for signaling and saluting prior to World War II. The original two units are aboard the USS ANZIO CG-68 Guided Missile Cruiser, replacing the old 40-mm batteries previously used as saluting mounts on board US Navy ships.
